It is now called Calpe, which means steep, rocky hill, but when it was settled by the Phoenicians, it was called Ifach, which simply means "north". It is hard to find words that do justice to wonderful Kathmandu. The main reason for Kathmandu's remarkable state of preservation is its unique geographical situation.
